And Now, a Word from Our Team...
What is so special about papaya? We asked our team:
"In 2000 I got tired of always having to enter the „news“ for a web project in HTML. And I didn’t want to waste my time correcting other people's spelling mistakes. You could say I came up with the idea for papaya CMS out of laziness. Of course there were other Content Management Systems at the time but nothing really workable. You always had to experiment with the templates. That’s not necessary with papaya. Once the page is online, you hardly need to do any editing on the templates. Structural information is saved as content that the user can change. That’s what makes the system so flexible and so powerful."

"papaya CMS is high-performance, flexible and scalable. It is based on XML – a solid and technically stable language. Modular and expandable, papaya can be easily tailored to the needs of your project. See for yourself what potential papaya has to offer. We rely on Open Source. We are a company that gives away its software. Yes, that’s right: you can download papaya for free. Top quality for nothing, no licenses, no catch. We earn our money with service – with what we can do for you personally: industry-specific and individual. You save money on IT costs and we profit from the fruits of our labor. Content counts and you can count on papaya. Even when it comes to costs."

"papaya is the best of two worlds: Open Source and a responsible company behind it. Firstly: as a customer, I want to maintain control. papaya CMS is Open Source and that means the Source code is open for me and everyone else. Secondly: as a customer, I want security. I want someone to be responsible, someone I can turn to for help. Papaya is “made in Germany” – I can just call the producer. This combination is what makes papaya strong."

"Stop the information overload! No one should still be putting content online and hoping that someone will somehow find it. People searching for information on the web should be able to find it - quickly, reliably and most importantly, it should be the information the person actually needs. When searching through complex amounts of data you need intelligent search assistants and keyword searches. As an IT services provider, we are equipped to build exactly these services into individual extensions for papaya."

"Things that take forever in other systems can be done quickly and easily with papaya: whether database search, URL, scaling – papaya is a comprehensive toolbox. It has a tool for every situation. Classes and methods are built-in and can be easily accessed – as a developer, I don’t have to continually reinvent the wheel. With this kind of quality, we should be much better known than we are."

"Finally everything is perfectly documented. It took me over 2 years to write an understandable and accessible documention for papaya CMS – complete from A to Z. But now the handbook with 1,300 pages of clean documentation is a strong argument for papaya. Perfect for looking things up; to help make it even more practical, I wrote separate handbooks for the newsletter module, templete creation and one for system administrators. This way everyone can figure out how to do things right."

"Everything that you get from papaya CMS is homogenous – all of a piece. Even though the system has gotten quite big – it’s still manageable. No Java-monster, no internet jungle to fight your way through. Our standards are much higher than anything floating around on the web. Ideal data delivery, simple database abstraction and built to resist attack."

"papaya CMS is an Application Framework, that can’t be beat: stringent object structures, modular construction, clean database interface, easily adaptable basic objects that cover most needs and that I can redefine myself. Then I just connect the interface to the admin-backend and I’m done: what else do you need to build high-performance applications?"

"At papaya we use “hard-core” PHP and we’ve squeezed every bit of performance out of it. We’ve achieved short loading times, offer a multitude of functions and all in a structured and modular base that is easy to extend: working with papaya is fun. In addition, we have an efficient template engine where we run content through different output channels, create pages and display them in the browser with XSL – and then print them out as PDF. I’ve only seen an output filter like this from papaya."
